The position -61-is separated from the positions -35-and -39-by the distance -62-, the distance being -62-from 100 mm to 400 mm, preferably from 100 mm to 350 mm and most preferably from 200 mm at 350 mm, for a 50 mm to 420 mm FBW, and most preferably a 100 mm to 180 mm FBW.

By having distances -40-, -41-and -62-such as those described above, in the case of the previous FBW, the elongation of the batch is minimized, thus allowing to maximize the operating speed of the packaging machine -29-. The machine -29 with distances -40-and -41-can be operated to produce approximately 250 to 300 bags per minute with certain types of snack foods. This is considerably more than previous machines. Another advantage is that rejections (incorrectly formed bags) are reduced, since the possibility of the product being located in the closures of the bags is reduced.
